Recent research has achieved remarkable novel view rendering and scene reconstruction results with Neural Radiance Field (NeRF), including extensions to the LiDAR modality. Few studies have, however, explored the key design differences between RGB NeRFs and LiDAR NeRFs, particularly considering their underlying working principles. In this work, we provide both theoretical and empirical evidence suggesting that the density of volume sampling plays a significant role in LiDAR NeRF. Based on this finding, we propose a novel Neural LiDAR Bundle Adjustment (NeLD-BA) algorithm, which is tailored using efficient volume sampling of LiDAR rays for joint optimization of LiDAR map and poses. Extensive experiments are performed using the Newer College and FusionPortable datasets to demonstrate the proposed NeLD-BA's state-of-the-art performance in multi-view point cloud registration and 3D mapping. We will open-source our code for the community.
Latent world models improve sample efficiency in continuous control by optimizing policies over imagined latent trajectories, but common neural transitions offer limited direct control over modal persistence and error accumulation in long rollouts. We propose Koopman Dreamer, a D…
Flexible manufacturing requires rapid deployment of solutions and minimal setup time to remain competitive. An essential attribute is the ability to control error levels, as failures can range from minor performance degradation to severe equipment damage. However, conventional de…
Cable-Driven Parallel Robots (CDPRs) are a type of parallel mechanism in which cables are used as actuators. Due to the two levels of redundancy and numerous constraints within the CDPR actuation, joint and operational spaces (together known as the tri-space), tracking a given tr…
The demand for humanoid loco-manipulation tasks with an object has recently increased, and most existing control approaches for stability in such tasks rely on heuristics or machine-learning techniques. This study rigorously analyzes and exploits the dynamic effects of the object…
Fixed Cartesian impedance makes contact-rich teleoperation demonstrations practical, but gains that secure progress and contact support also determine impact and force variability. We study single-demonstration controller-to-controller impedance retargeting. Given one fixed Carte…
