BRIDGING COMMUNICATION, COMPETITION, HOSPITALITY, AND TECHNOLOGICAL LEADERSHIP IN THE AGE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Dr. Rachel J.C. Fu

Artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and robotics are reshaping the foundations of business, communication, and society. These transformations are not occurring independently within isolated sectors. Humanity is entering an era characterized by interconnected intelligent ecosystems in which communication, operations, customer experiences, and strategic leadership increasingly converge. This introductory article provides an integrative framework connecting four contributions published in AI, ML, & Robotics in Business. The featured articles examine perceived humanness and strategic communication in conversational agents, intelligent decision-making and predictive analytics in Formula One and NASCAR, the transformation of restaurant operations and global franchising through automation, and the emergence of OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Anthropic, NVIDIA, and Microsoft as architects of the intelligent age. Intelligence is becoming a strategic asset that extends beyond operational efficiency to encompass creativity, personalization, prediction, trust, and value creation. This editorial argues that organizations, industries, and educational institutions must embrace interdisciplinary approaches that combine technological capabilities with ethics, emotional intelligence, and human-centered leadership. The next phase of development represents not merely digital transformation, but the emergence of an intelligent civilization characterized by collaboration among humans, algorithms, and autonomous systems.
